Styling our new Freshly Picked moccs!

Tuesday, August 30, 2016

I can't even wrap my mind around the fact that Baby Boy Wallace is due to arrive in NINE WEEKS. How did that happen!? It is seriously going to fly! Even crazier is if he is anything like Zoe, he could be here in just 5.5 weeks! Now that is seriously INSANE. Even though delivering at 36.4 was pretty nice (skipping almost a whole month of pregnancy?! Yes, please!!), I'm kind of desperately hoping baby boy stays nice and comfy in there until close to his due date because I'm pretty sure I will not be fully ready in just a little over 5 weeks, eek!

When I realized we were pretty dang close to D-Day I decided I'd better start thinking about what I wanted to pack in my hospital bag (I was TOTALLY unprepared when I went into labor with Zoe and ran through the house in a huge frenzy - stopping every 3 minutes to get through a major contraction haha - trying to pack up our hospital bags so I don't want a repeat of that, thank you). I especially wanted to lay out what I wanted to bring Baby Boy home in because a going-home outfit is kind of a big deal!!

I'm not 100% set on this outfit yet just because I have so many cute outfit/hat/blanket options BUT one thing I'm totally sold on is the Freshly Picked moccs! Normally, I don't like to put my babies in really any shoes (just socks & booties for my winter babe and bare feet for my summer ones!) just because they are usually so stiff for little baby feet and don't seem at all comfortable! But when I got these FP moccs in the mail I knew I wouldn't at all mind putting them on baby boy straight out of the womb! They are seriously BUTTER soft (I am not kidding!!) and super flexible/breathable. They basically seem the same as socks or booties!

I chose the weathered brown soft-sole moccs because they are so neutral and will seriously go with everything! Because he's going to be a fall/winter baby he will likely always have socks & these moccs on every time we go out so I wanted something that would be really transitional! These are seriously PERFECT.

It has been a couple years since I've had a tiny baby BOY around here so I'm just dying to put him in all these little outfits I've been collecting! Seriously can't wait for another cold-weather babe! I love my summer babies but there is just something about dressing a tiny baby in warm little one-pieces and bundling them in hats & blankets!

Edited to add: I just read on FP's Instagram that they have just lowered the price of some of their classic moccs to just $49!! RUN!

Phillip: 15 months!

Monday, April 20, 2015

I feel so sad that I'm so behind on my blogging because here I am (when Phillip is 2+) just now blogging about Phillip's 15mo check-up! I don't remember the little details about him at 15mo now that I would have known had I written this on time which makes me so sad to not have it recorded! Lesson learned to do better! At least there are pictures! :)

My instagram post of him at 15 months said: Still barely hanging on the charts in the 5th percentile for weight (20lb) and staying steady in the 50th percentile for height (31"). At 15 months, he runs everywhere, loves playing baseball, says "ball," "more," "mama," and "dada" and is very mischievous, climbs on everything, is a big daddy's boy and worships Jack.

Easy DIY Printed Baby Leggings

Friday, August 1, 2014

Wellll.
I almost didn't share this tutorial with you because the photos are really horrible quality. And the leggings didn't turn out exactly as I had imagined.
But here I am posting it anyway.
Enjoy!

Note: Don't forget to slip some cardboard or heavy paper into the pant legs before stamping so the ink doesn't bleed through!

I think next time I want to try this tutorial from One Little Momma.
I'd also love to try potato stamping sometime. Look how cute Kelli's leggings turned out over at Kelli Trontel Lifestyle.

Let me know if you try this out!
I'd love to see pictures!
Or if you have your own blog post of DIY leggings, link it below!

Just can't get enough.

Monday, September 16, 2013

Okay, I know you are probably sick of baby outfit posts
BUT
I just can't get enough of how cute all this winter newborn stuff is!
Jack & I went birthday shopping for Daddy today
and obviously made a pit stop at Carter's to check out their newest teeny tiny baby clothes.
We were not disappointed.
I was going to show you the pictures I took on my phone then I realized the ones on the Carter's website will obviously be much better quality.
So I really did see these in-store
[and drooled over them]
even though these are just stock photos.

Bear on the bum? Oh my goodness.

I'm really obsessed with these little button-up shirts.

I have also become a little obsessed with elephants
thanks to Carter's ginormous elephant collection.

If you haven't noticed, most of these have stripes.
Because I really am obsessed with all things striped!

These little turtles <3

Can I mention that it's amazing how many people assume I must be disappointed to be having another boy?
When I mention that I'm expecting #2
[I have still only be asked that one time]
and they ask what I'm having
I say "it's another boy!"
[Jack is usually with me]
and 90% of the time they give a sad smile or make a comment like
"I bet you were wishing for a girl."
But oh my goodness, they are SO wrong!
I was wishing for another boy!
And walking into these baby stores and seeing all these little boy clothes is like heaven to me.
Yes, I would love to have a little girl one day
[and maybe what most of these Californians don't understand is that I plan to have more children than just two...they probably all think I'm done and I'll never have a girl.]
but even if I ended up with ALL boys...I would be ecstatic!
Boys are so much fun!

I couldn't find this one online but those little elephants!
...with a striped beanie!

With most of these sets just $10 it's miraculous that I made it out of the store empty-handed.
Especially since there are always coupons for 20% off when you spent $40.
I think I could have gotten every single one of these outfits for a grand total of $56.
BUT
I was on a mission.
To buy birthday presents for Daddy.
And I was not to be distracted.

Mission accomplished.
Every single item is a birthday present for Daddy.
No baby clothes, no mommy clothes.
The next time I visit the Outlets I might not get so lucky.

20 & 21.

Sunday, September 15, 2013

So I'm 22 weeks today and a little bit behind in pregnancy posts.
But here's what baby & I have been up to the last 2 weeks!
At 20 weeks...

- I had my 20 week appt with my OB. Baby's HB was 143 and sounding great!
- My weight gain is at +10 pounds
- I took a comparison picture of me at 20 weeks with Jack and 20 weeks this time...same outfit.
-I am clearly WAY smaller!
- We had our ultrasound! Baby is healthy and weighs 12 oz. The ultrasound technician said that is on the smaller size and not indicative of another 9lb baby...HUGE sigh of relief. But she also said you never know how many pounds they'll pack on at the end.
- Dr. Knight told me I am actually MORE likely to get PUPPP rash again this time time around since I've had it once before. I think I almost cried. He reassured me that it is still really rare since it occurs in less than 1% of pregnant women but just the thought of enduring that again makes me want to bawl. Oh and PS 71% of the cases of PUPPP are in women carrying boys. Oh BOY.
- I'm not waking up as often as I did in the first trimester to use the bathroom. I know it's coming back in the 3rd trimester so I'm treasuring my uninterrupted sleep while I can.
- I measured 22cm at my OB appointment.
- I had at least 5 breakdowns. I cry way more this pregnancy. Everything makes me cry.

At 21 weeks...

- I bought an exercise bike on Craigslist for $25! Deal of the century!

I'm loving it and using it any chance I get...mostly while watching TV :]

- I wet the bed. Yep. No shame. You know why? Because I lost all my dignity when this happened to me at 30 weeks in my pregnancy with Jack. You can read about how I thought my water broke and went to L&D just to be safe here. This time I knew exactly what had happened...and was so mad! How does this happen to me ONLY when I'm pregnant!? Seriously so annoying. So. Annoying.

- I painted my toenails for what I decided was the last time for the next 19 weeks. It is getting so uncomfortable to reach! I already told my mama I would be needing her help in that department for the next several weeks.

- We found out that Baby is Baby Boy!

I knew this little face looked boy!

And if that picture doesn't convince you, this one will.

- I failed at my 1 dessert/week goal. I think I had dessert every night of 21 weeks. Oops.
- I'm still walking 5 miles five days a week.
- I was happy to note I can still sort of hide my bump with a loose shirt while laying down. Ha. The day will come when there is absolutely no hiding it so I'm savoring moments like this.

- Baby is moving like crazy. Mostly at night.
- T & I can't agree on a name. Mostly T just hates every single boy name except for Jack, which is taken.
- The billing person at the OB office called and told me we have to pay $525/month from now until January 1 so the delivery bill can be paid in full before the baby's due date. I cried. Actually more like I bawled. Really, I seriously cry over everything.
- I'm still experiencing round ligament pain, mostly at night when I roll over.
- I somehow resisted buying every cute baby item I saw at Target the 3x I went during the week.
But if I go into Target one more time I'm pretty sure this outfit is going to jump into my cart:
It has been really anxious to go home with me.
I told it "no" three times already
[one of those times it even made it off the rack and halfway into my cart].
I don't think I'll be able to resist a 4th time.
- I am so much more tired than I was in the first trimester. I thought the second trimester is when you are supposed to get your boost of energy? I think I took 3 naps during week 21. Most weeks I allow myself zero naps.
- I'm overall feeling great and being grateful for good pregnancy health!
On to week 22!
xoxo
