Have you missed us?

Thursday, March 20, 2014

Yeah, I've sort of fallen off the blogging earth.
Sorry 'bout that...
but here's what's been happening around here lately!

The babe started smiling! At exactly one month old he gave us some true, responsive smiles.
Now he smiles all the time...it's so fun!

PS Did you know he is TWO months as of yesterday?! ahhh.

We've been fighting a never-ending battle against gas.
I seriously have burped this kid 50x more in his two months of life than I ever burped Jack in his first year.
The good news is that he never, ever spits up.
High five for that.

We hung out at Grandma & Grandpa's for a week since T was out of town and I have a phobia of being alone.
No, I'm really not kidding.

T had paternity leave so we tackled our mess of a front yard.
Word has it this area used to look really nice but after a year of renter's and then several months of us (we have NO gardening know-how at ALL) it was a complete disaster/jungle.
Basically we ripped it all up and are starting from scratch.
Look at these roots we had to pull up!

Jack was a great little helper...in his diaper.

What is this face? haha!

Oh, and don't you know plungers are like the go-to tool for everything? At least Jack thinks so. He grabs it anytime he wants to help with anything.

The fly swatter is a good gardening tool too.

Petsmart is almost as good as the zoo.
And bonus! - it's free.
(considering we have no pets so we never buy anything ha!)

Costco lunch for the win.

This little guy la-la-loves "pipa."

We've had Great Grandma Davis over for dinner/baby cuddle sessions a few times.

We've learned that the only way this little guy will fall asleep is after he's swaddled up nice and tight.
...if you aren't that good at swaddling you can just lay the blanket over him then tuck it in really tight underneath him as I clearly did.

This little babe has just been getting cuter and cuter.

He's pretty cool too.

Jack randomly got jealous that Phillip was laying with me once and wanted in on the snuggles.
Snuggling two babies on a tiny couch makes for one crowded snuggle session...but look at that smile!

I went to Carter's to get a price adjustment on something and accidentally walked out with a new wardrobe? Oops.
*Disclaimer(s):
a. Jack has suddenly had a huge growth spurt or something since all his shirts/jeans are all of a sudden too short
b. We've already hit 80 here and it's too dang hot for Jack's current winter wardrobe.
c. Everything was 50% off plus an additional 20% off if you spent $40 plus you got $10 off a future purchase if you spent $50...so I obviously had to spend $50, right?
d. I had a $33 gift card.

Our good friends were in town from New Mexico for a funeral so we got to meet up with them and their adorable daughter, Megan. Jack Jack had so much fun playing with sweet little Megan!

Good thing we're planning to go camping together this summer so these two can play more.

Jack loves his cousin "Car-Car" and pianos too...pretty sure he was in heaven.

We've been loving having Daddy home between 6-7 every night instead of at 1am.
HOORAY for the end of busy season!

Have I ever told you about all the random cats that hang out in our yard?
For some reason it's like cat paradise over here.
Clearly, Jack loves it.
Still working on convincing T to get Jack Jack his own kitty.

Note to moms:
Just buy your baby boy a football at the dollar store and he won't care at all about having to sit in a pink floral car seat.
I'm kidding. He didn't care before the football, either.
I'm just a sucker at the dollar store when he wants something.

This babe's eyes have stayed blue so far! Am I seriously going to be so lucky to have two blue eyed babies?!

GAP had their friends and family sale...I bought way too much stuff.
How can you pass up a 0-3 month dress shirt onesie that is this cute?!
Well played, GAP.

We celebrated this pretty lady's 81st birthday with Old Spaghetti Factory and delicious cake.

Life has been good to us.

A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life

Tuesday, March 4, 2014

Basically my little sister is amazing and films the most amazing videos.
While she was home for a weekend she made this video of me and the littles.
She basically wanted me to go through our morning routine and she filmed it.
Welcome to a day (or more like morning) of our life.

[or you can watch it in HD here]

Seriously, she's amazing right?
I've watched it like a million times and I can't get enough!
I sure do love being a stay-at-home mama with these littles.
Thanks, Kell, for making a video we'll forever treasure!

See more of Kelli's videos on Vimeo here.
A few of my favorites:
and another one but I'm going to post it here soon so I don't want to ruin the magic ha.
PS If you live in Utah you can maybe hire her to make a motherhood video for you :]

Our adventure at the Aerospace Museum

Monday, March 3, 2014

Once upon a time Groupon had a deal for the Aerospace Museum.
$8 for our whole fam bam.
Jack loves airplanes (like, loves!) and T was going to have a couple weeks off coming up so basically it was a no-brainer.  I bought the Groupon and last week we were finally able to venture out to explore the airplane museum.
Jack mostly loved sitting in the airplane seats (seatbelt buckled and all...safety first, folks!) and watching the super old black-and-white films with airplanes ha.
While the museum was fun for a one-time visit I don't think it's something we'd do on a regular basis and I certainly would not pay the $16 it would have cost us without the Groupon.  They try to make it family-friendly but to be honest it's really more for the history buffs out there.
Although maybe we'll sneak back out that way to play on the really cool aerospace-themed playground.  It was rainy the day we went so we didn't get to try it out but I can guarantee Jack would have loved it! Plus that part is free :]

^^ I take it back. Maybe I would go again...look how excited he is! ^^

^^ So I sqautted to get a better angle while snapping pictures of him and since he's in this copycat phase he sat on the ground. Pretty sure he didn't realize it would be WET. He was pretty distraught about his wet pants after this. ^^

^^ It's clearly nap time ^^

High Five for Friday!

Saturday, March 1, 2014

Wow, it's been awhile since I've done a H54F post!
I always mean to but the day just gets away from me...like every single Friday.
Anyway, here I am at 11:50pm actually doing one. It still counts because I have 10 minutes left of Friday ha!
[[linking up with lauren elizabeth]]

1. T is HOME this week and next for paternity leave! We are loving every second. Hence why I'm still really bad at blogging post-baby. Promise, promise I will get back to it soon!

2. I decided to do that crazy crockpot freezer meal thing.
[this is my shopping cart with all the ingredients minus meat which I got at Costco]
I used this 40 meals in 4 hours blog post as my guide/recipe list/grocery list.
The 40 meals thing worked out for me* but the 4 hours part? Not so much.
It took like 4 hours just prepping all the meat, I kid you not! Plus grocery shopping time plus clean up time...the total time was like 8+ hours. Better be worth it.
*ahem...except minus the one that fell to the ground while I was putting it in the freezer. The bag broke and all the contents were all over my garage floor. GAH. So I actually have 39 meals ha.

3. I ran out of freezer bags for the crockpot meals and sent hubby to the store to get more.
He came back with this.
[[hot chocolate.]]
He knows the way to my heart.
PS he also came back with the freezer bags.

4. We got Phillip's newborn pictures back this week! LOVE them.
Another post with all the pictures coming soon.

5. Took a family field trip to the Aerospace Museum today.
Jack Jack was in heaven.
