My Three Favorite Boys

Monday, June 1, 2015

While I'm beyond thrilled to be adding a little girl to the mix, I sure have loved having a house full of boys

^This little one has developed a crazy little personality lately. He is always making crazy faces and telling us random, crazy things and saying stuff like "hi guy guy!" to Daddy when he gets home from work. He gets this stuff from his aunt Laurin ;) ...and also probably from the fact that he's 2-going-on-3.

^while he sometimes says to Daddy "I don't like you!" (so mean!) he always changes his mind after a few minutes or as soon as Daddy leaves for work. Then insert many tears and "I not like Daddy go to work!"

T has been THE best Daddy to two boys and I can't even wait to see him with a little girl! I think he is actually more excited than I am for this baby girl. She is going to be one spoiled little thing with all these boys to love on her and protect her.

Having two boys so close in age has been a dream. Jack is the best big brother and Phillip just adores him. They now can play together for hours in the playroom and I love hearing their little laughs & screams while they build legos, play swords, knock over block towers and wrestle. It's the best ever when you hear Jack say things to Phillip like "come here, honey!" or "Phiddip, where are you? Come play with me!"

Can I just freeze time so they can stay little for just a bit longer?!

But then again. I don't want to be 35 weeks pregnant any longer than I have to so I guess...soldiering on and soaking in every minute of littleness that we have.

Moments like this

As a mama, your heart just wants to burst when you experience moments like this.

A life with boys.

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

I think I've told you before but once upon a time I wanted a girl first - and then all girls after that
And then I had a boy.
And then I had another one.
And now I can't even imagine life without boys.
I actually want a boy next.
And then another one?
Ha, no I really do want a girl one day, I think.
But I tell T all the time I don't even know how to be a mom to a girl!
So bring on the boys.

These three boys? They're my world.

And this whole brother business?
Oh my goodness. Insert emoticon with heart shaped eyes.
I think my actual eyes turn into hearts just looking at these.
^i meeeean^
^ You guys. They like play together now. Sort of. More like Phillip tries to play and 80% of the time Jack's okay with it and 20% of the time I hear "NO! BABY! STOP BABY!" So I mean ... they interact now in a new & mostly fun way!

^ I just can't. They're too much. ^

^ They look almost the same size ha! ^

^ Nap time can be hard because if Phillip starts crying (which is approximately 100% of the time that I lay him down for a nap), Jack goes running into the bedroom to rescue him. This day I heard Jack come barreling down the hall yelling "whoopsie! mommy! mommy, whoopsie! baby crying!"
Whoopsie.
I couldn't catch him in time before he barged into baby's room and baby sure was happy as a clam about that.
And Jack's like duh mom. he stops crying if you just come in here and get him.
Whoopsie. Duh.

My favorite things about this little guy^?

He is such a people person. The most social baby in the history of babies. He loves anybody and everybody.
He's a huge mama's boy. While he loves people in general, mom trumps them all. Sometimes it's sweet and sometimes it's...well, you know. Can't I catch a break when Daddy's home?!
He's inquisitive. He scoots around everywhere and investigates everything. He's crawling 3 months earlier than Jack and is into way more stuff.
And he has the brightest smile in all the land.

My favorite things about this little boy^?

He makes me laugh every single day. Why are toddlers so funny?
He's so patient with me when I do his hair or change his outfit 5 times.
He's so fun to play with because he's at the stage where he soaks everything up like a little sponge...it's so fun to see him learn new things every day.
He's friends with everybody he meets.
He's the world's best big brother. So, so sweet to Phillip and so patient with him.
[Having two ridiculously smiley boys is fun but can be a pain when we got o the store and it takes us twice as long to get out because everybody and their dog wants to come talk to the boys.]
He's so brave. Like take him to the pool and he will dive right under the water to you.
He's a really big helper around the house - more about that on his birthday post coming soon.

and my favorite things about their daddy? ^

he is the boys' best friend.
[it's a great big party when daddy gets home!]
he's sooo smart.
he doesn't get mad at me when I spend more money than I should.
he works so hard so i can stay home with the babes.
he pretty much never, ever complains about anything.
[i could learn a thing or two from him about that].
basically, he's the best ever.

I mean, you guys. I'm so lucky.

Little Boys.

Wednesday, May 7, 2014

Life has been so good around here.
Let me just tell you right now - if it turned out that I had five boys and zero girls, I could be completely happy. These little boys rock my world and having a house full of boys? I just can't complain...it. is. the. BEST.
T has already promised me that if we have no girls I can fly to wherever my little niece, Emma, lives to go prom dress and wedding dress shopping. I just can't miss out on those experiences completely, ya know!?
PS all that being said - I do still want a girl!

Look at the cuddle sessions we get with this little boy.

And his so cute, really sad/angry faces.
He is the best at sad faces.

With little boys you get to play with nerf guns.
And stick them on the baby's forehead...

You get to play hours upon hours of basketball.

Little boys give you these heart-breaking smiles.

And look at how cute they are when they sleep!
note: i'm pretty sure girls are just as cute but ya know.
i have boys sooo.

When you have little boys, you get to dress them in sweet little baseball hats.

And you don't even have to put them in a swimsuit.
You just let them show off those muscles.

The Daddy-son bonding?
It's precious.

Little boys with blue eyes?
Drool.

side note: yes, we've had days warm enough to SWIM.

And when you get so lucky to have two little boys?
This brother thing is so, so precious.

If this little boy's face isn't one of the most precious things you've ever seen...
I mean, I know I'm his mom and a little bit bias but. THIS FACE.

and this smile!

and just so you know.
little boys can be crazy and wild
[like when mine watches basketball]
but they also sometimes sit really quietly for hours minutes and read books.
....at least mine does.
i think my nephew max wouldn't be caught dead sitting quietly?

Little boys are the best of the best.
Better than the rest.
Until I have girls.
Then my story will change.
And I might have to delete this blog post.

xoxo

PS.
can i just add this picture to tell you something adorably sweet?
My sister-in-law made a book with photos of my father-in-law after he suddenly passed away in November. We keep it on a dresser in the family room and Jack Jack is constantly pulling it down and bringing it to the couch to flip through all the pictures of grandpa. I so hope this book helps him to know and remember his grandpa!
