Another week, another list!
Link up with us, make new blog friends, and have fun!

Hosted by myself and my little sister, Kelli, over at K.Gilby, My Life in Lists is a weekly blog link-up where we give you a new prompt each Monday (always a list of some kind!) and you can write your own blog post based on that prompt any day that week! Then link up here or at K.Gilby to join the party! Participating in a blog linky party is a great way to connect with other bloggers and build new friendships, which is what we are exactly hoping to do ourselves by hosting this weekly link-up!

This week we want you to share your current to-do list!
Every single day I hand write a to-do list. Every. Single. Day.
Actually, I just realized that's a lie. I usually don't have one on Saturday or Sunday. Let's rephrase.
Every. Single. Weekday.
And it has to be hand-written! I don't do the whole iPhone notepad to-do list biz. There's something about physically crossing things off your to-do list. If you just erase your finished items it feels like you did nothing all day when you're left with a blank screen staring back at you. haha!
Also. Can I tell you that if I do something that is not on my to-do list I totally add it just so I can cross it off? I'm so serious right now. *insert laughing so hard you cry emoticon*
sidenote: where are emoticons for the blog world?
if I created that right now, I'd be a millionaire.

ANYway. My to-do list. Exactly as it's written in my [real-life, not iPhone] notepad.

- Clean bedroom
- Set up visiting teaching appointments
- write questions for Thurs mtg
- write out trek document (needs, etc)
- clear counter
- wipe counter
- wipe table
- laundry

*Sheets
-Fold
*colors
*whites
-Put away
*Colors

- Workout/run
- Tom's lunch
- organize closet
- update journal
- Tidy Phillip's bedroom
- Tidy playroom
 - Bathrooms

- Vacuum
(I used to seriously write out every room that needed to be vacuumed - so every room in the house - but then I stopped because it took up too much room in the notebook haha!)
- Mop
- Scripture Study
- Jack dressed
- Jack bath
- Jack teeth
- Jack breakfast
- Phillip bath
- Phillip dressed

- Huggies codes to huggies.com
- use shutterfly coupon
- facetime kelli & jai
- check what ryan paid
- print crockpot dinner list
- lunch notes
- cradle to storage
^insert many tears^

OHMYGOSH. That is seriously my to-do list. Please tell me someone else's looks like that!? You are probably so confused what some of the stuff on there means ha. But seriously I have to write down EVERYTHING so that at the end of the day I can see what I accomplished.
Let's be honest - there is no way everything on this list will actually be finished by the time I go to bed tomorrow. Because I am not a super-human. Or a person without kids.
The things that don't get done are transferred to tomorrow's list.
Some things float from list to list for weeks. Like updating my journal. I'm like a month behind right now. Yikes.
To-do lists save my sanity (I'm pretty much the queen of to-do lists in case you were wondering). And make me feel way more accomplished when all I've done for the day is shower/get ready/feed children/respond to one million child demands...and get no chores done. Because the showering and feeding and getting ready are on the to-do list. So I can look back at the end of the day and say "hey! I did something on here!" It is so dumb but it works.

OKAY.
So now it's your turn!! What does your to-do list look like? For the good of all mankind (or just for your own good) I really hope it's a lot shorter than mine.
LINK UP and tell me about it!

Family Home Evening at the temple

Sunday, June 8, 2014

Basically, Jack is obsessed with finding Moroni in temple pictures.
So last week we finally took him to the Sacramento temple to see the real deal.
Well. Obviously we didn't actually see the angel Moroni.
But we did see the statue!
We were the only people on the entire grounds and Jack loved exploring!
Perfect family night <3

"Moroni!!"

^too busy spinning circles to look at the camera^

My Life in Lists

Monday, June 2, 2014

Hello, friends and welcome to My Life in Lists!

I'm so excited about this week's prompt!

List things most people don't know about you.

My goal here is going to be to list at least one thing the people who know me best don't even know. My husband doesn't count since he probably knows me better than I know myself ;)

1. Even if I'm not using the water, I have to have it running while I brush my teeth.
It's just this weird thing and it drives me crazy to have the faucet off.

2. I'm a licensed soccer coach.

3. If I wear socks to bed it's a guarantee that they'll not be on when I wake up in the morning. We usually find them buried down in the covers at the bottom of the bed. I do not consciously remove them.

4. I'm a huge believer in sleeping with the windows open in the winter when it's freezing cold outside. Because there's just something so magical about that.

5. I'm certified to take foot and ankle x-rays...in Utah.

6. I still do math on my fingers.
Like simple math.
8 + 7? Finger math.

7. + 8 = 15. I just added that on my fingers.

8. + 7 = 15. That one I did in my head.

9. I love going to the doctor. I just think it's cool.
I also love taking my kids to the doctor...although I do not wish sicknesses upon them haha

10. I love filling out forms.
Another good reason to go to the doctor.

11. I remember my dreams almost every morning.
T says they're all crazy.

12. In my high school glory days, I could run a mile in under 6:00. If you're thinking of asking my exact best time, I'll save you some time and tell you I don't remember.

13. In elementary school, I lost the spelling bee (class level...our schools never did the whole real spelling bee thing?) exactly one time. In 5th grade. I spelled "rodeo" "rodio." I will never ever forget it.
PS I really did know how to spell rodeo, I swear.

Okay, friends. It's your turn!
Link up and tell me what things most people don't know about you!
And let me know in the comments which of these surprised you!
xoxo

Sunday Seven

Sunday, June 1, 2014

Sunday Seven.
That's a thing, right?
You know, just in case you miss Friday Five. And then you miss Saturday Six (which is also a thing). In that case, you have to do Sunday Seven. If it's not a thing, I'm officially making it a thing. You can do it on your blog too if you want. You're welcome.

1. This cute little helper when I planted my new petunias last week.
Side note: they're all dead now.

2. Bath time with these two.

 3. Celebrated Papa Bear's birthday last Sunday.
Don't let the single candle fool you.
He turned 53, not 1. That would be kinda weird since I'm 25.

4. They watch cartoons together and it kinda melts my mama heart.

5. Did the hippie thang today. Peace.

6. Phillip moves!
He started in the center of that mat.
I'm half excited and half teary.

7. My littlest sister is the queen of bright lipsticks and she can pull it off like nobody's business. Since I'm brave and all I picked up a bright coral lipstick on one of my bi-daily* trips to Target last week.
There is a good possibility this new lipstick tube will sit untouched in my makeup bag forever.
Turns out I'm not as brave as I thought.
*I think bi-daily means every other day but it could also mean twice per day. Either definition would be accurate depending on the week

I know I've hit my 7 limit so I'm not numbering this one.
You know, so I don't break the rules of the thing I just made up.
But just a side note that this kid had the biggest meltdown in the history of meltdowns in church today.
You might not believe it by these pictures but do not be fooled. They weren't taken today.
A note to all who have lost some part of their hearing due to all his screeching (basically everyone in the building): sorry.
A note to Jack: Simmer, child.
A note to self: do not wake Jack from a nap.

Happy Sunday!
xoxo
