California!

Monday, July 26, 2010

Because the family I nanny for was taking a vacation I decided I should take one too!  So I invited Laurin, Emma, and Max to come along with me to California.  The drive was miserable--13.5 hours each way (regularly it's only a 10ish hour drive) but the vacationing was fun!...and relaxing!  We drove to California on Saturday the 17th and drove home Sunday the 25th.  Thomas had a meet and greet with Ernst&Young the following Tuesday so he flew to Sacramento early to join us on Thursday.  Our trip consisted of:

  • Spending time with family
  • Swimming
  • Breakfast @ Grandma & Grandpa's
  • Going to the park
  • Taking the dogs for walks
  • Playing Frisbee golf on Wii Sports Resort (x29839048234)
  • Eating out
  • Spending one full work day with Mom (8am-6pm)
  • Shopping
And just pretty much hanging out--and enjoying the time off work :]

we got to see our cousin, jordan, for the first time since he got home from his mission in Japan

Farmers Market

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Thomas came home today!!!  It was a long and lonely week without him.  So excited for him to finally be home!...now one more week and I leave him behind when it's my turn to go to California.  Excited to go to California but not so excited to be apart again!!...especially since I'll miss our 2nd anniversary!

Also...went to Farmers Market today and did pretty well!  I don't know if I would do it again though just because of the heat and all the work it takes to bring everything there, set up, take down, and all the time of sitting there all morning & afternoon.

KPMG

This week Thomas is in California for a summer leadership program with KPMG.  He flew to Sacramento to spend the 4th with his family and then drove to San Francisco for his program and stayed there for two nights and then went back to Sacramento to spend a little more time with his family.  He comes home tomorrow--woohoo!!!  Kelli has been staying the night with me but still it is so lonely without him!!--even though the silence has been nice--practically no TV for a week...for that part, I'm in heaven.  For every other part--time to come home!!!  Thomas said his leadership program was really fun and he got to know a lot of people in the San Francisco office.  He has another meet and greet type thing in two weeks with Ernst&Young.  We're hoping these meetings will open doors for internships and jobs! :]

Happy 2nd Birthday, Emma!!

Monday, July 5, 2010

Emma Boo turned 2 today!!!  We celebrated her birthday yesterday with cake&ice cream and lots and lots of presents!  Most of my family (Mom&Dad, Thomas & I, Kelli, Jamie, Chris, Grandma Masters) chipped in on a "Big Piano" for Emma.  It's a piano mat made by FAO Schwarz that you walk across to play.  You can record songs you make and change the keys to make different sounds (piano, trumpet, horn, violin, etc).  Emma wasn't really sure what to do at first but I think she likes it!  She also got finger puppets, a movie, books, puzzles, and more!  Lucky girl :]

Happy Birthday, Emma!

4th of July 2010

Saturday, July 3, 2010

Even though I was sad to not celebrate the 4th with Thomas I still had a great time with my sisters!  Kelli and I went to a BBQ Laurin and Mark set up for their friends in the ward and then watched the kids do fireworks in the street.  Pictures are worth 1000 words so I will save you the boring stuff and you can judge for yourself all the fun we had by looking at the pictures! (oh...except PS...so as not to confuse you for tomorrow's post this was really on the 3rd of July...we're weird...we are celebrating the 4th on the 3rd and the 5th on the 4th...you'll see)

this weird cat came up to us after the BBQ and just wanted to sit on our laps and be cuddled. what random cat does that?

emma didn't really like the fireworks...
