The Pregnancy Diaries: 25 Weeks!

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

15 weeks to go!  Not much is new this week.  Baby weighs about 2 pounds now which is still so tiny and I wonder how we are going to fit about 6 more pounds of baby in this belly?  I'm starting to feel like my organs are a little bit crowded and I'm not sure how my body can fit 6 more baby pounds but I guess somehow it will work out!  A lot of times Baby pushes his body out against my belly and I can feel his little body when I press down a little bit.  It is so weird!  Baby Boy still moves a lot.  We are still discussing names.  We still are so excited for him to join our family!

25 weeks.  Some outfits make me look bigger than I really am.  Like this one.  I look like I'm 9 months pregnant!  The picture below was taken on the same day.  Maybe it's the cardigan?  Or maybe my hands?  Either way, I don't really think I'm that big!
I'm really this big.

PS I bought this cute (non-maternity) orange top at Forever21 for $2.80!! SCORE!!

The Pregnancy Diaries: Baby Registering

The Pregnancy Diaries: Baby Registering

Saturday, April 7, 2012

This weekend T & I registered for Baby Boy Wallace.  It was so much fun and made me even more anxious for Baby to arrive!  I was amazed at how much faster it was to register for the baby than it was to register for our wedding.  We decided that you need a lot less stuff to add a baby to the family than you need to start your family.  Plus it's helpful that all the baby stuff is in one section instead of all over the whole store.  We tried to be really practical about the things we registered for.  We barely registered for any toys - only one for the car seat, stroller, some teething rings, and a cute little giraffe I just could not resist adding.  Since I handmade burp cloths and wash cloths already we didn't register for any of those.  We really tried to leave off anything that seemed unnecessary like wipes warmers, a diaper genie, bottle sterilizer, "nighttime" bath wash (you know, because some people need that in addition to the regular bath wash), etc.  We definitely did not add everything on the Target and Babies R Us "must-have" checklist.  Because, honestly, a wipes warmer is really not a "must-have," at least not to us.  Even with attempting to be so practical I'm a little shocked with how much stuff still ended up on our registries!  Even though you don't need as much stuff as when you get married, you still need a lot of stuff for baby!  Good thing we get 10% off anything on our registry that we don't receive as gifts...although not until after the due date.  So we'll see what stuff we can wait to get until after the baby comes.  We probably will have to buy most of it without the 10% discount so we can be ready for baby before he arrives.  We ended up registering at Target, Babies R Us, and amazon.com.  Here are some pictures of some of my very favorite things from the registries (looking at the registries just makes me so excited!):

Precious, right?  This will just be a small print that will go in a frame on a shelf somewhere in baby's room.

We love this one!  It'll hang on the wall in the nursery, probably across from the crib so baby can always see it.

When you're about to be a mommy, silly stuff like teething rings just seem so cute.  I have no idea why I'm obsessed with these.
I can already picture baby sleeping so cutely in his swing.
Okay, this is something I added to the registry later (online) that is actually totally unnecessary but it's just such a cute way to organize baby's clothes in the closet!
Isn't this the COOLEST high chair ever?!  I love the kind that hooks to the table for saving major space but this one rotates 360 degrees so the baby can face you when you are feeding him or the table to join in on dinnertime when everyone else is eating.  It's genius and we love it!
Stroller toy.  We think it's pretty adorable.
Gray and White Chevron and Gray Minky Boppy Cover
Isn't this chevron patterned boppy cover so adorable? And totally gender neutral! Love it!

Don't deny it - doesn't all this cute stuff make you want a baby too?!?!

I'm so excited for Baby Boy to make his grand entrance into the world.  103 days to go!!

Date Night In!

Friday, April 6, 2012

T & I had a fabulous date night tonight.

We made homemade pizza (so yum!).  Half of it was Hawaiian and the other half was vegetarian with tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, olives, and peppers.  Seriously, it was probably some of the best pizza I've ever had in my life.  Probably mostly since it was made with so much love :]

Then we popped in a DVD of good old Seinfeld (I used to not like that show at all but it's growing on me) while we enjoyed our delicious pizza.  And, of course, we had movie candy to go along with our date night in.  Nerds, red licorice, and a HUGE chocolate Symphony bar.

Needless to say, our date night in was perfect.

Pizza, movie candy, and Pepsi Next (which, by the way, is disgusting.  Don't believe them when they say 60 less grams of sugar equals the same amazing taste.  It does not.)

The Pregnancy Diaries: 24.5 weeks!

The Pregnancy Diaries: 24.5 weeks!

Thursday, April 5, 2012

This week baby is the size of: An eggplant! about 9 inches (crown to rump) and 1.7lbs!  Getting bigger!
How far along? 24.5 weeks
Due date: July 22, 2012
Total weight gain/loss: If I wrote it, you would probably gasp.  I blame it on not being able to exercise due to the bum knee + never having morning sickness and being starving the whole first trimester unlike most pregnant ladies!
Maternity clothes? Maternity pants/shorts every day.  I absolutely cannot fit into any of my pre-pregnancy bottoms (besides my soccer clothes - yay for stretchiness!) I have barely any maternity tops and mostly just wear stretchy-ish tank tops with cardigans over them.  I'm thinking I'll be able to get away with this the rest of the pregnancy but we'll see.  By the way, they are tops that I bought specifically for the pregnancy so I'm not stretching out my pre-pregnancy clothes. As for church clothes, I wear skirts with a stretchy elastic band or I have one maternity dress.  So mostly I have just adapted some non-maternity clothes to be maternity clothes.  There is so much more selection of non-maternity clothes!
Sleep: I still sleep just fine except that I get up at least once each night to go to the bathroom.
Best moment this week: Dates set in stone for our trip to California to (hopefully) buy a house where we'll raise our sweet little boy!  Plus my CA baby shower date is set now! YAY!  Also.  This is a little TMI so you can feel free to skip but I was outgrowing my (new) bra (I already outgrew my pre-pregnancy bra by week 10) and so I went to Victoria's Secret to have my bust measured since I didn't want to buy the wrong size.  Ready for this?  I'm currently measuring at a 34D/32DD. WHAT!? Normally I'm a 34B so this is crazy for me! She had me try on both sizes and we both agreed the 32DD fit much better.  Yes, I'm a little bit excited.
Movement: HE. MOVES. ALL. THE. TIME.  He kind of has a schedule.  Right after I eat breakfast he moves a lot.  Then he calms down for a little while and then gets really active again mid-morning.  Then another little nap and then he's back to moving right around lunchtime.  A late afternoon nap then he's back to moving in the late, late afternoon.  He's usually pretty quiet throughout dinner and most of the evening but some nights he'll wake up and move around for a little bit before I go to bed.  I've never been kept awake or been woken up by movement.  Either he sleeps through the night or I just don't notice.  His kicks are starting to get pretty hard.  I can see most all of them through my belly if I'm watching.  Sometimes they make me jump because they are so hard and I'm not expecting it.  They don't hurt at all though.  I love that he moves a lot.  It is so fun!  [on a side note: he still doesn't move much for T.  Every time he's kicking, kicking, kicking I'll tell T to feel then as soon as his hand is there...baby stops.  I still can't figure it out!]
Food cravings: None, really.  I guess I want cookie dough a lot but that's nothing new.  I don't let myself make it more than once every few weeks.
Symptoms: Just this last week my back has started to hurt.  Only the upper left side.  I'm not sure if it has to do with the weird way I adjust my weight because of my knee or if it's due to the extra weight of the baby or a combination of both.  Either way it hurts mostly at night when I'm laying down.  If I'm up & moving it feels okay.  T is pretty sweet to massage it every now and then to relieve some of the ache. :]  Besides this new symptom, I don't have any others!
Gender: Hopefully he's still all boy!
Labor Signs: None!...thank goodness!  Until July 1, I'd like him to stay nice and comfy in there.  After that he can come if he wants or he can stay until July 22...or later.  Just as long as he doesn't decide to come on July 19 [our anniversary].
Belly Button in or out? This is a big topic around our apartment.  Pretty much every single day I examine my belly button and freak out that it's getting closer and closer to popping out.  If you lived in my apartment you would probably hear "noooo, it's getting closer! stay in, belly button!" about 12x per week.  T probably gets a little sick of it but for some reason I am so worried about that!  For now, it is still IN.  But probably not for long.  It sure is trying to POP.  Ugh.
Feeling toward Pregnancy: GREAT...I seriously really love being pregnant! But starting to feel a little anxious for when the baby comes.  I really do not function well with little sleep so I'm pretty worried about how I'll do getting so little sleep as mommies get.  I don't want to be snappy to everyone all the time which is how I get when I'm tired so I feel just a little worried.
What I miss: Being active.  This isn't totally pregnancy-related since it's my knee that keeps me from being active BUT it's the pregnancy that keeps me from getting the surgery which would fix my knee which is was prevents the activity.  Boo.  Just a few more months and I can finally get my surgery!  I'm very excited!
What I am looking forward to: Registering this weekend!
Milestones: Well, they say if he was born today he has a really good chance at survival.  I guess that's a milestone...but let's keep that baby baking for a while longer!
Utah Sol vs Red Bullets

Utah Sol vs Red Bullets

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

Past Stats:

Fall 2011 Utah Sol vs Red Bullets
Utah Sol wins 2-1

Today's game:
Red Bullets win 2-0

Such a sad loss for Utah Sol.  Our undefeated title is gone but we are still determined to win the rest of our games and take home the 1st place trophy at the end of the season!  The girls were all so super sad yesterday after the game.  They really did play hard and we must have had at least 30 shots on goal but we somehow just couldn't finish.  That seems to be a problem lately.  We'll be working on that in our next few practices.  We have almost a 3 week break until our next game due to no games during spring break.  Hopefully we can use the time to practice extra long and extra hard so we can win the last 3 games of the spring season!

Current Season Stats: 2-1-1
